Fuzzy Friends Rescue

MCC Outreach - Ongoing Opportunities

Fuzzy Friends Rescue

Mission:
Fuzzy Friends Rescue's mission is to help animals receive the quality life, respect and compassion that they are entitled to as living creatures. This is provided through shelter, food and medical treatment to animals in need, as well as adoption to loving, responsible owners.
Volunteer Duties:
Work directly with animals in areas such as cleaning, exercising, grooming, adoptions, foster care and especially for socialization. Volunteers may help in non-animal work in areas such as data entry, maintenance and office organization. Off-site volunteering is also available for special events and fundraisers, and may involve presentations to schools and community groups, assisting with decorations, or writing articles. Drivers are also needed to take Nike the dog to elementary schools to help students improve their reading ability. See Fuzzy Friends volunteer website for details.
Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers should be 18 years or older, wear closed-toe shoes and register at the shelter.
Training:
Additional training is provided for adoption assistants, foster parents and fundraising assistants. Two hours of dog walk training is provided the first and third Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m.
Time Commitment:
Regular commitments are preferred but not required.
Group Volunteering:
Groups are welcome to help with special projects, such as planting flowers on the property. Small groups of three to four are welcome to help socialize the animals in the "get acquainted" rooms.
Recommended For:
Students in the fields of education, office administration and more
Benefits:
Volunteering at Fuzzy Friends Rescue allows volunteers to learn more about animals, their care and their behavior, while gaining the satisfaction of helping animals find loving homes. Volunteers also gain experience in an office setting.
